The Song Instant Karma is “Very John”

John Lennon said he wrote the song for breakfast, recorded it for lunch and put it out for dinner. This was in January of 1970. The whole song, from inception, to writing, recording – including contacting the other musicians and the producer – to its ultimate release, all in short order – is “very John.”

“Very John” is a phrase Paul McCartney likes to use when telling anecdotes about John. Instant Karma, so creatively inspired, full of mixed emotions and messages, brilliantly performed and magically executed, and all produced so quickly, is the very definition of “Very John.”

So very cosmic, man 🙂
