On My Little Sister’s Birthday

Happy Birthday to my sweet little sister.

My parents both had humble, hard working beginnings, but had hope in the future.

So many cousins in our extended family, mainly from South Carolina. In their nice clothes!

Lots of kids probably had their photos taken on the hood of the family car.

My mother radiated the warmth at the heart of my family; we were always drawn to it.

My grandmother left me with many lovely memories. She was a unique lady in many ways.
